English Churchman Archive: Edited by Rev. Peter Ratcliff

Welcome to the English Churchman archive, a collection of editions edited by our Minister, Rev. Peter Ratcliff, during his tenure as Editor from 2005 to 2021.

As a devoted servant of Christ and a steadfast defender of biblical doctrine, Rev. Ratcliff brought clarity, conviction, and compassion to the English Churchman newspaper, providing valuable insights for readers across the Church of England Continuing and beyond.

We invite you to explore this archive, which features thought-provoking articles, historical perspectives, and faithful exposition on key issues affecting the Church. These editions serve as both a spiritual resource and a historical record of the church’s ongoing witness to the Gospel.

About This Archive

This English Churchman archive is freely accessible to everyone and serves as a valuable resource for readers and researchers alike.

The collection includes back issues of the English Churchman newspaper, covering a wide range of topics, from theological debates and historical events to contemporary issues within the Church.

Whether you are conducting historical research or simply seeking insightful Christian reading, this archive offers a wealth of material. The search function allows you to explore the collection with ease.

Please note that the archive is still incomplete. The English Churchman was first published in 1843, and many early volumes are only available in major national libraries. We are actively working to expand the collection.

We welcome contributions of older copies of the newspaper, either as physical editions or scanned files. If you have copies you would like to share, or are able to assist with scanning, please get in touch with us—we would love to include them here.

For contributions, inquiries, or suggestions, please email the Editor. Your support in preserving and growing this archive is greatly appreciated!
